Hello all, I am new to the forum, so I wanted to say hello.
My wife has just acquired a 'new to us' 10-plate A3 Sportback S-line.
Very nice, but too many wheels for me.... however,
it handles well on smooth roads, quiet, comfortable, so no complaints there!
At first it went fine, so quiet when you running that you weren't sure if the engine was on....?
then....
I am not sure where to post the below, as they seem to be various and un-related...? but I am happy to be guided by others with more experience than me...
these issues all surfaced maybe 6 weeks after water pump, cam-chain, guides, cam-wheels replaced:
Once the PS assistance was reduced. Upon stopping, turning off the engine, it was fine.
The gear indicator in the dash blinked, but the gears changed fine, the blinking went away after the engine was turned off.
EML came on, with P0010 - "A" Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit/Open (Bank1). this can be cleared with OBD11, but always comes back after a few mins.
now it is as if you are dipping the clutch when the gears change, occasionally the revs climb during gear changes, as if you are just learning to drive!.... :-(
