Hi all I brought a Audi A3 S line recently 2016 model I have been browsing the forum and interested in doing the following retro fits

Auto lights - what code rain sensor would I need and headlight switch ? ( I have xenon headlights with front and rear fog lights )

a boot subwoofer - I can see a subwoofer on the internet for sale but not the connector ?

also interested in retro fitting a cruise control and that will be me happy

Any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks
Dan

Hi I'll start from bottom of your list cruise is simple get a used on and the cowel it then needs coding. On the sub if your fitting new head unit with amp it's simple I have 2011 sportback with amp I just added amp and a sub to run alongside existing sub sounds great. On the auto lights bit more complicated. Was thinking of that but needed module and other components.

Sub can be connected upto existing unit without extra amp if desired. All the info you need is available on this forum. I did all three - cruise control (fitted and coded by DJAlix), auto lights and rain sensor, and sub/centre dash speaker. It was two years ago so I can’t remember the detail, but I found it researching on the forum

Perfect the cruise control is the main must have for me to be honest you would have thought buying a Audi sline 2.0 diesel it would have at least be fitted with cruise but never mind. I have checked my existing sensor behind the light for the auto lights and switch I think I have the standard humidity sensor fitted at the moment I have had a brief look and you need to change the mirror sensor and the light switch to an automatic one just looking for some part numbers for what I need for them. I’m sure some more will have there input soon

thank you

Dan

Cruise control can be fitted yourself but you have to get it programmed by someone who can connect to Audi online. For the price DJAlix charged I was happy for him to fit and program. He did it in about half an hour without tools. Wizardry.

These are the parts I ordered for the sub and centre dash speaker (fits under the grill behind the pop up display):

1 x 8V0035397 audi centre speaker £18,00
2 x N90930201 centre speaker screws £1.00
1 x 1J0971972 centre speaker connector £2.00
1 x 8V0035382D audi subwoofer £90.00
1x 4E0971942 subwoofer connector £2.00
1x 5Q0803899 long spare wheel screw £10.00

you’ll need wiring obviously, and you’ll prob need a bigger space saver wheel for the sub to sit in

The sub and centre dash channels can be switched on with vcds I believe, but if you want the separate subwoofer control in the mmi you’ll need odis.

the rain and light sensor can be switched on with vcds once you have the parts.

There's these subs I'm thinking of getting one

Probably a fair bit better than the standard sub, but I liked the idea of keeping it factory, plus it wasn’t expensive to do and I do get a nice rumble from the standard sub. In fact most of the time it’s at half power in the MMI. What the Audi sound system does need though is a bit more mid range. I saw someone retrofit mids in the middle of the doors near the handles.

I've a 10" JBL in a box sounds sweet keeps base inside car and your right about lacking mid range

Hi mate does the difference on the sensor B or C at the end of the code make any difference ?
Thanks

Did the rain sensor come with the gel pad people are on about or would I neee to buy separate.

Thank you

Hi all I have fitted a light sensor 8U0955559C. When I spoke to Audi they said that 8U0955559B has now been discontinued and that 8U0955559C is the new replacement for this. I fitted a new light switch 8V0941531L which is exactly the same as what I have fitted but with just the auto option. I have managed to get hold of some one to code it but it keeps saying Coding is incorrect would this be due to it having 8U0955559C Rather Than 8U0955559B

Please Help :weary:

I have a copy of what it says here
