Newbie, oil pump question. Sorry

Hi guys and girls, sorry for jumping on this thread but themore I read the more confused I seem to get.
I’m looking at buying a 2.0L tdi A3 around a 56, 06 plateand wondered if it’s likely to suffer from any of the oil pump issues. I havealso read a pdf posted in the bellow thread that makes out transverse enginewere not affected but that goes against when honest john says.

I've not heard of any A3 8P's suffering the fate of the A4's.

My current car has over 200k on her so I like to do my homework when choosing a replacement. The next car will be clocking the same amount if not more.
I take it with an 06 car I’m less likely to suffer from the head cracking?

Try for facelift mid 08 onwards tbh mate, more peace of mind.
