Oil crud/leak on air intake

Was cleaning up the engine bay and noticed this oil build up on the air hose.

I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to getting my hands dirty but trying to learn how to do things myself. What could be causing this to happen? It's a 1.8tfsi BZB. thanks in advance

oil separator, it's normal that with time you will get a abit of oil build up on them

Thanks for the reply. Yeh asked a mate of mine who's a mechanic and he said same thing. Just cleaned it up with some degreaser.
