OK so the two grades of oil for an S3 according to Audi are 50301 & 50400, correct me if I am wrong. The only oils I could find in my local halfrauds were 50200 or 50500. Would these be suitable.

Leave Halfrauds be and get yourself to a TPS where you can pick up what tuffty has linked above over the counter.

Thanks Tuffty. So those numbers don't really matter all that much then. On a side note when it comes to the weight of the oil does that really matter also. Only asking as I still have a 5l drum of Silkolene Pro s 5w50 from my skyline days where that was the oil of choice or should I stick to 0-40/5-40/5-35.

He's in Ireland - do they have TPS there?
if not then Quantum Platinum can be bought from any VW / Audi / Seat / Skoda dealer. Should be about £30 for 5 litres.
However, Southampton Audi wanted to charge me nearly £50 for 5 litres!
The 5W/50 is probably a bit heavy unless your oil temperatures are getting high - but a little used for topping up wouldn't hurt, rather than binning it!
