Oil Level Warning on DIS

Hi folks - got an annoying problem on the old bus - It had a non working sensor unit on it (BUL engine) so I changed it for a new one (they appear to be identical side by side on the bench) & now I can't seem to go more than a few miles at a time without the warning coming up on the DIS.
I KNOW the level is OK (according to the dipstick) so am puzzled as to why it's happening. GRRRRRR.....
Am I reading the dipstick wrong? I could add yet more oil but don't want to run the risk of overfilling it.
Any thoughts on this? Anyone else got this problem?

Hi there - it was a fleabay item - supposed to be equivalent to P/No. 06E907660.

Could it be the wiring to the sensor, does the warning stay on the DIS or come and go ?


If the leval sensor triggers and you turn engine off and back on does the warning go away, if not does the warning go away if you open and close the bonnet (it assumes you have put more oil in)
