Oil warning light

Hi all. On my way home from work this morning I had a yellow oil can come up on my dash display saying sensor.
I immediately stopped and checked the oil level which was fine.
Anyone any ideas as to the cause of this ?.

if the levels ok it would just mean you have a faulty oil level sensor, just keep an eye on it and swap out the sensor on the next oil change
nothing to worry about !

Thanks boomtown, I'll get one ASAP. I'm nearly due an oil change, so ill do it sooner rather than later. Might even pop into ECP tomorrow as I also think I need a brake light switch.

Hi doodah, I got one at ECP but as they don't list it on their website I couldn't get discount. But I got the 25% off everything else. Still spent over £120 on parts..

Make sure you get the right one, look under the car the possibilities are two identical part numbers, the last digit is 'B' or 'C' pretty sure tha a ones are pre-b6, the 'C' one has a C in the cooling fins/casting, the B one does not.

got mine off eBay for about £28 posted.
