Online status changed?

is it me or the online status has changed?
it used to sort of pulse green when the person is online
it doesn't do it anymore its just steady green
I quite liked it they way it was

Weird, I only checked on my iPhone yesterday and is and still working fine however on the desktop its not

I was at work and was using W8.1 with IE
