Hi guys,

I'm after a system that will support at least 2 cams, maybe 4, and want the actual cameras to be as small as possible - really not keen on the typical dash cams - basically full-size cameras stuck to the window.

Would also like to be able to track the car via GPS/3G from a computer or phone, as well as it recording the speed/location with the video.

Found this on ebay (doesn't seem to be many choices, and most are on alibaba!) - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-CH-Chan...953464?hash=item27d9368538:g:yg4AAOSwl9BWIFjR

Is something like that going to be up to the job? is 2x32Gb storage enough for decent quality vid? (was expecting to need a couple of Tb)
Am I better off using IP cams or analogue? And any recommendations for UK sellers?

Sorry for all the questions!

Cheers!

Adam.

What cameras are you going to attach to it?
64gb of storage is fine, but 30fps ? A lot of dashcams do 60fps.

would imagine 30fps be fast enough? this shows the same unit but comes with 4 cameras, still look a tad bulky - particularly if I want one pointing inside the car - but fine for forward/backwards facing i guess. don't know much about the cam types. just that there's analogue and digital, and some work over LAN connection.

maybe going to be easier to have the cams/dvr separate from the gps/tracking system? plenty of gps/3g systems can be had for around £30 by the looks of it

also, some units support d1/cif cameras, and some support rs232/rj45 - is there much of a benefit of one over the other? particularly regarding power consumption, as i'd like to record whilst away from the car too.

cheers
