p3 gauge

hi guys after a bit of help i bought a p3 gauge for a b7 thinking it would work in my b6 but it doesn't power on. am i right in thinking the pin outs on the obd2 port are different?

btw i only bought it as it was a complete steal and the guy showed me it working in his b7.

any way to make it work? or sell it and get one for the b6?
