PAYG SIM Question.

This may sound strange posting on an Audi foum, but I was wondering if there was someone in the know.

Me and my brother have gone half's and bought mum a new mobile for Christmas (the one she has now is years old!)
It suddenly dawned on me (after buying the phone) that it takes a micro-SIM card.

I bought the new phone on the same network - so there shouldn't be any issues with locking.

My question is, will Orange transfer her number to a micro-SIM if she is on PAYG? - She has had the same number and SIM card since 1998!

I have tried calling Orange / EE but cant get any tech support without knowing my mums security codes.etc

Yes. Ring customer services and tell them you want to port/ move her number over. It normally takes 24 hours, but as it's the same network could be faster.

I believe if you go into an orange shop, they have micro sims there and will swap it for you straightaway if you have the old sim with you.

There is another way as well, where you can cut it down, but its a bit risky....an example guide below:

I've cut sims down before, it's not too difficult with a new and sharp pair of scissors, there are templates online for marking up the sim.
