Hi guys,

First time poster, long time reader. Really like this page as it's given me a lot of insight into my car!

Quick question, could someone clear up whether my car is a PD or CR engine please?
2010 8P A3 2.0tdi

Thanks a lot,
Dan.

Cr engine, but somebody may come along to correct me.

Defo a CR on a 2010 to confirm it check the engine code and post it here Dan.

Quick Q RE the CR engines chaps.

They don't have DPF's fitted, but does that mean they are immune to clogging? Or is it advisable to do a burn off every so often if you do a lot of short journeys.

Which engine doesn't?

Sure one of the older Diesel engines didn't, (exhaust pipes that curve down)? Thought I'd read that on here.

Also doesn't have a DPF warning light on the dash.

Mine is 2.0tdi quattro -2006 (BMM code) and it has a DPF-filter.

Yeah as said buddy, the older 140 and 1.9tdi didn't have the DPF but unfortunately all the newer CR engines do.

@yankov your car is 170bhp and they've always had DPF.

Edit - I thought all of the older quattro diesels were 170?

Yankov has a BMM which is 140ps

CR = common rail
PD = pump deuce (2 pumps)
