Please Help Fan Problems

Please help iv got a 09 audi a3 sportback fan keeps kicking in even when key is twisted and not started and also when car is idling iv been told it could be a thermostat sensor iv took everything apart to see the engine I need help identifying where the problem and thermostat is so I can replace it

Get it scanned with VCDS, check what temperatures the coolant temp sensors are reporting, if they are reading too high this will be the cause of the fans being on. If not, then likely a failed fan controller in the fan.
