So after consulting the lovely lady & the parts bible, elsa & etka, I decided ok maybe new seal would be redesigned or longer, so got new seal & you're supposed to take the top of the door of, but found way round this to unclip the seal from a fixing hole hidden in the door itself,

Sorry @NHN for the very old thread bumped, but did you squeeze the clip and push it through then remove the seal? My son in law is a mechanic and doing this for me just helping him to save time as all i have read is remove door trim....not sure if they mean inner door trim or the actual outside door.
