power tailgate switch

Has anybody had a problem with the power tailgate switch? I can open from drivers door and external button but when I press the switch on the tailgate edge it doesn't close, to close I have to press the external button. It also looks that it is opening to far.
Frustrated you bet.

That does sound a bit frustrating. On the point about it opening too far, I had the opposite issue the other day, when all of a sudden the boot would only about about 20cm. I found that you can reset the opening height buy holding the boot to the desired opening height and holding the close button for about 7 secs. Not sure this will work for you if your close button isn't working though!

Yes the close button is illuminated, when I say it opens too far I mean higher than normal.
