Ring up VW with the bootliner part number just to confirm it is the cheaper version, then ask him for the receipt and the dealership he purchased it from, either the guy is lying or hes been misled by the place hes bought it from and unwittingly sold it on 'as', VW are far from perfect....

There is no part number on the bootliner but I have the bill for mine that is identical. There is actually a cheaper version still that is foam but looks the same and he has not got his receipt.
