Q3 Q3 2015 MMI head unit removal?

Hi guys, have a March 2015 Q3 pre facelift model, trying to remove the MMI head unit. I have the correct radio removal keys, slotted them in and easily pulled out the unit virtually the whole way but it won’t come fully out. There seems to be 2 or 3 black leads to right rear which are preventing the unit from fully sliding out, its as if they are too short or connected to the dashboard some way. Am I missing something, are these cables screwed down some way, do I need to remove something else like the centre air vents or glovebox to somehow release these cables, I’m reluctant to give it a stronger tug in case I dislodge connectors . Any advice appreciated .
