Q7 major servicing at 79000 whats involved

Hi,

going to book my q7'in for a major service(on long life)

(just passed its MOT with no advisories)

I had a look at the service book, as far as I can see the following is needed.

DUST and POLLEN filter

OIL/ OIL FILTER change using long life oil

FUEL FILTER changed .

Inspection

Have I missed anything that needs to be changed ?

Mine is Chain driven,

i thought all q7s were chain drive?

if its like the A6 3.0's it may need the injection pump belt changing.

I really wouldn't carry on with long life servicing ...

Especially as you have:-

model is 3.0 tdi s-line on a 56 plate.

Your engine is timing chains, 4 in total, they are located at the back of the engine. Do a google for SSP327_Audi engines - Chain drives there are two parts to file (first 2 hits in google).

With long interval oil changes the chains can stretch and tensioners wear quicker and chain rattle can occur (do a google for V6 TDI chain rattle). It's then engine and gearbox out to to change all and bill is not cheap!

There are other reasons as well to avoid LL servicing perhaps have a google ...

As Gup says, ditch the longlife, more than likely your oil has been in there since 59k-ish.

My A6 is on fixed which is 10k/1 year. Hopefully the bits I've had done between 59k and 79k will give you an insight to whats needed.
