Quattro Gearbox on FWD

So while recently trying to adjust the boost on my Automatic FWD I lost my gearbox, (something broke inside).. anyways the question is can I fit a Quattro Gearbox without the full conversion? Meaning without the rear differential..

Do you mean run it without the rest of the quattro drive train installed?

As in does a quattro run in 2wd if you disconnect the prop shaft?

when my front nearside drive shaft came detached from the hub i lost all drive to all wheels , i suspect the same will apply if you stick a quattro gearbox on a 2wd setup, just my thoughts.
