I have charged my battery up (varta 80ah 380 a din) from dead for 20 hours. I took it off charge and it was reading 12.6v last night and has now gone down to 12.3. (It's not in the car btw)
i assume as it's lost charge so quickly it is goosed, or shall I try refitting it?

You did not say how old this battery is. If it is old, then possibly it won't hold a charge like it did when new. However, if the battery was dead, and this is its first charge for some time, then I would put it back on charge. It just may be recovering its chemical balance, and the second charge may restore the 12.6v and hold it. Worth a try before refitting. Good luck

Thanks for the reply. Il put it back on charge tonight and see what happens.
Im not sure how old it is, it was on the car when I bought it. It has been flat for 3 months though.

Got a new battery delivers today , it was only £80 so thought it would be prudent to buy it.

Its reading 12.6 v. Do I have to charge it before use?

Excellent. That's good service. Last time I bought a battery (many years ago now ) I'm sure I had to add water n charge it.
