Quick concert to rns-e unit.

Hey Everyone.

Just sourcing a mk2 rns-e unit for my A3, can anybody tell me if it's just a straight swap or do i need a new harness to get everything working with the dis ? here's my present unit.

straight swap, you'll have to make the necessary VCDS changes once you fit it.

Thanks Darren. I have vcds so can do what's needed.

What you will lose is the aux input in the centre console ,this needs retrofitting.My RNS-E did not need vcds work just plug and play.

@Alva78, can i not just code that in with vcds ?

no it needs the lead in the loom changing out to a separate pin,(i was told this by Ash187 on this forum)he is a retrofitter on this site.

Ok, thanks for that. Did you do yours or just lose the aux port ? I guess having the 2 sd card slots can hold lots of music but would still be nice to be able to play stuff from my phone, ipod etc.
