Has anyone else seen the R8 spyder broken down by jct 8 on the m3 earlier? Not sure what happened but am suprised to see one broken down so soon after launch. Anyone know anything about it?

Worryingly seems to be the future for Audi, style over substance.

I couldn't believe it when I was going back the other way an hour later and the car was still there! As I hadn't seen one of them before I went back and stopped to see it (sad I know) and ask what was wrong. The driver didn't want to say and was ****** off that he'd been waiting on the hard shoulder for 2 hours and Audi still hadn't come to recover it, all that money on a car and he gets a worse service than I do from the RAC. His passenger said he thought it was terminal as something had gone wrong with the engine. Still, even broken, it looked stunning in white at the roadside, so at least the bloke could take pleasure in that.

I wonder how many drove past in their beaten up old cars and smirked.....I would of.

Yes, that was me earlier and I was stopped because of a puncture. I was ****** off because I've paid my road tax which is stupidly high and not only are the roads covered in potholes, but also nails and other dangerous items, and because of this I've got to replace a basically brand new tyre already. Still, its worth it for that car, I absolutely love it and its worth every penny. Your right, it could have been worse at the side of the road, at least I had the car to admire

haha dad nice reliability you got there.... not like in a alfa :)

I take it you had the same issue we had when our R8 had a puncture in the Lakes, i.e. no "low loaders" nearby . . .

We waited in a local pub for four hours before being "rescued".

it could have been worse - could have had a puncture in a ford escort! If it was a puncture - what was wrong with the emergency tyre repair kit????????
