Radiator fans

Done lots of searching but cant seem to find s definitive answer.
My radiator fans rotate when my heater blower is on.
They stop when blower is switched off
They stop when engine is switched off.
I'm guessing this isn't normal ?
Car is 2005 2.0 tdi bkd engine

If your aircon is on, then the fans run all the time. Aircon is on when the eco button on the climate control unit lamp is off.

Econ light is off ... So what you are saying is, air con is on... And the Rad fans SHOULD be rotating ... I should know this **** after 12 months ownership

Yes your aircon is ON. press the button and the eco light will be ON, the fans shouldn't be on constantly then.
This must of confused a lot of Audi owners over the years, since 2010 the button is now marked A/C and the A/C is on when the red light is on. Makes sense now as other car makers have always had the A/C button lit when on.
