rattle on start up, 2.0TFSI

Anyone else have this? It occurs for seconds then disappears, i'm confused. Is it a characteristic of the car or a fault starting out?

Reckon it might be a characteristic of that type engine as my A3 TFSI does exactly the same and has done since i've had it. Almost sounds like a diesel on startup then disappears. If you find its the start of a problem please let me know.

hopefully it is just a characteristic. Sounds like maybe something is rattling against bulk head for maybe 3-4 seconds most, so yeah like a diesel. Like wise Tenexx

Ditto my S3 tends to do the same and then quietens down when it has warmed up!
