Hi, this is how i reset the service indicator on my '51 plate golf (V6 4mo), I presume it'll do the same on yours:
ignition off.
hold mile trip reset button in.
ignition on.
release trip reset button.
turn clock addjust button clockwise and hold for 5 seconds.
service indicator will dissapear.
release clock adjust button.
ignition off.
when you turn ignition back on all should be well.
