Rebuilt Engine Break in

So Im almost ready to start up my car after a full engine rebuild, now everyone has their "Different" opinion on the break in procedure. I only trust you guys to give me the best of your experience..
What from your experience is the best break in method??

500-1000 miles steady speeds, nothing crazy, just take it easy.

Light but increasing engine-loading over the 500-1000 mile period - use the gears...

Need to ensure piston rings 'bed' (for both compression and oil control) to the new bores - that of course is if you do have a "full engine rebuild"
