Good afternoon gentlemen. I'm on the market for a set of new alloys a got my eye caught on a nice set of Axe wheels.
Theyre 19 inch 8.5 j front 9.5 J rears.
Now the question i have for You lot is:
what tyre size should i go for with these wheels?
will the 225/35/19 front & 235/35/19 rear suit the wheels or should i go for wider tyres ?

side note : I don't mind having a bit of a stretch but don't want to go to extreme level as i want them to be practical and safe on the road in first place.

any help is very appreciated.
Tom.

Personally I'd go up a width. I have 235s on my 19" 8.5js and to me it's perfect. Almost looks like standard fitment but with just enough stretch to help with clearances. Car still drives great on them and the do still offer some protection to the wheels. When I got my 8.5 speedlines last year they had 225s on and I really didn't like the way it handled, very skittish and unrefined, I changed them to 235s and it was like night and day.
One thing I have noticed though is the difference in stretch and width between tyre manufacturers. Vredesteins seem to look like they have more stretch than the Falkens.

Heres the 235s on a 8.5j I'm running at the mo,

Falkens on the front,

And the Vreds on the rear

oh ok. I thought 255 is too much of a width for an a4.
Thanks for the response guys.
Orignally I intended to go for falkens , but after this review i might as well opt for Vredesteins.

235/35/19 on my 9.5 wide rim

im running 235 all round but only 8.5 inch front rims so dropping them to either 215 or 225 when they need changing
but have no issue with my rears and the minor stretch that's on them

Sounds alright, ran 235 and 245 on mine when I had the same setup so would have to be biased and suggest that.
