Recommend the best oil for 2.5 tdi Quattro sport help

Guys my car done 172k and I wana give it a full service please and how many liter does the engine takes

Would it be 5 30 or 5 40

The factory spec is 5-30 fully synthetic - however a few of us with the 2.5 run 5-40 fully synthetic oil.

I have used Shell Helix Ultra in mine for the past 30,000 or so miles.
Don't buy it from the Shell petrol stations though! Last time I checked it was £52 for 5 litres! I usually get mine from Opie oils.

Eurocarpart got it for 36 quid I'm gna buy 2 cos their 6.3 liter or sumit

I ussualy get 5ltrs for around 36 quid genuine gold.
