I've got some plans for the A3 which may involve taking the dash out.

Is this difficult to do, remove and put back in.

Would it need to be done by an expert or a task easy enough to be tackled at home?

Any information on whats holding it in etc would also be much appreciated.

Dashboard out jobs usually involve a fair bit of swearing and looking for hidden screws or bolts, then realising that when its back in that one of the airvents has disconnected when putting it back in...

then finding out it squeeks...

How much can i take out and leave out?

Basically, im hoping to cage it up, and want to remove as much unnecessary (sp) weight as possible. obviously i still need the speedometer etc though.

Take it all out, and Zip Tie, the speedo onto something, or for proper weight loss... Get a bike speedo, and zip tie that somewhere... Just remember how much fuel u have

I took the dash out of a 306 and put it back in, in less than a weekend. Quite a big job though.
