Replacement Parking Sensors

I have a replacement grill to fit on my C7.5 allroad and need to get 2 new parking sensors (black instead of grey). I’m just wondering if genuine sensors are required, or would any of the thousand cheap aftermarket ones would work? I’m not sure if they are to be avoided, or they are actually 100%.

Does anyone have any experience of them?

Just repaint the existing, rub down some & use gloss or matt black with maybe some lacquer.

That was my first thought, but I’ll probably refit the original grill when it comes to selling the car, so would be easier just to have separate sensors rather than having to repaint the originals again.
