I've bought the stalk and trim to fit cruise control to my 2005 A3 8P2, is there anyone is the Worcestershire/Gloucestershire area who has the knowledge/VCDS to fit this for me?

Got the parts from a trade parts specialist so hope they're right, the stalk is 8P0 953 513 D and the trim 8P0 953 512 A.

Ok maybe not! Anyone even close to these areas, happy to drive a bit? Also tried to find a guide on here but none of the links work, anyone got one?

If your prepared to travel to London, I could do it for a small fee mate.
Let me know fella

Gotta guy in Bristol that could do it, just off M4 junction 18 (bath/stroud)

Would anyone else within a reasonable distance be able to fit this for me? Been quoted £72 to fit it by a local garage which seems reasonable.

Hi fella, as I said, if your prepared to travel to london i'll do it for £50 mate. But £72 is still reasonable. Word of advice mate, MAKE SURE it is fully working before you pay for the work, make sure he has coded it correctly.
Another member on here took it to a bloke who said he coded it only to find the cruise did not work when he left.
Being you have a 2005, it should be a staright fit with no additional wiring. Make sure they code the following,

01. Engine Module>Log in/coding>11463 "DO IT"

16.Steering Wheel>Change second last digit to "4" (persuming you have trip installed) "DO IT"

Make sure they do a full scan after and clear any faults that may have occured while dismantling your wheel etc.

Hope this helps

Cheers but it's more than a 2 hour drive to London for me. Thanks for the info, looks like i'll book it in there, will make sure I check everything afterwards, the garage are good so hopefully there won't be any problems.

Ok good luck fella, keep us updated when you have got it done.

Well if Danny cant help out, I can supply/fit at yours potentially, send me a PM if interested :)

I like your way Nige, you remind me of the littlest hobo, lol!
Hope your well mate.

Ok so I tried to get my cruise control fitted but am being told I need a new steering wheel control module. Have done a search and according to the ross-tech website my module does support cruise, can anyone confirm this?

I have 1K0 953 549 AF (which ross-tech says is a midline and therefore supports cruise: Steering Wheel Control Module Versions - Ross-Tech Wiki). I'm being told I need 8P0 953 549 F.

You're right, I don't, I've just gone out and played around and it does work but not in the way it's supposed to! The 'set' button doesn't work, you can only set the speed by flicking the lever up or down when it's on, and the 'resume' function doesn't work. Very strange, guess you have to change the module to get it to work properly.

Hi mate, you have the old module. To resume, you click lever down.

Hmm, didn't think the AF performed that way as I know the AH performs correctly. Learn something new every day!

Your functions are:

Pull stalk forward to turn on
Push stalk down to set
Push stalk up to resume
Cancel, Off and Speed - and + perform the same.

Jonny, my mistake, I meant to say click the lever "up" to resume. So you are correct buddy.
Down is to set.

No worries mate ;) got my first Cruise into a A4 B8 tomorrow... I'll be sure to let you know how I get on.

Defo mate, cheers.
I have had so many enquiries now for the B8 model.

Good luck with it mate, not that I think you'll need it, lol.

So why when the module supports cruise does it not work correctly?

Sorry to thread hijack, but I can't PM yet - Danny, I've got a '57 plate S3 in Surrey (west byfleet) and am looking to have cruise control retrofitted - is that more pricey than an A3 or still £159?
