Retrofitting PDC (Park Distance Control) + PLA (Park Lane Assist)

I did check my wiring with the multimeter and im sure ive got them the right way round. I will check again. Just to confirm the CAN gateway is behind the glovebox where there is a module? I spliced my wires in to the can wires. Should i try swapping the wires on the can and see if that helps?

Im not sure if i did try it without enabling 76 park assist but i will give that a go and see if it helps. Would enabling these teo together or the can wires wrong way round drain the battery?
@MT-V6 Also what fuse do i use is it 5A 10A 15A?

@MT-V6 Yh i can see module 10 and access it. Now that i think about it when i access module 76 i used to get an error message so your probably right that i shouldnt of enabled that.

Yes 5 amp, and yes definitely remove 76, you'll be getting an error in the gateway about incorrect coding too I'd imagine

Sort that out, clear all faults, and see what comes back

Ok thanks il give that a try and il let you know if it works or not

so ive tried your steps and im stilling getting the same issue. Im thinking if theres a problem with the pdc/pla module that could be causing this? Is that faulty causing the open circuit on can gateway?

When i activate 10 park assist and try access it i get this message (i have attached the pic) and the settings on there i dont think matches my car. Not sure what the problem is

Wierd because it's not a UDS module as far as I know

Also you said this

But the scan says this

Part No SW: 7N0 919 475 A HW: 7N0 919 475
Ah damn i made a mistake and used the wrong module but im still getting errors. I have attached my latest scan with the correct module. Im thinking maybe its the sensors thats faulty? I changed some settings from automaic transmission to manual and changed the model to audi a3 5dr s line 8pa.

According to ross tech website i should remove rear sensor loom and front looms one at a time to see if i can distinguish where the fault is coming from and i get the same error either way. Ive tried to remove one sensor at a time but it doesnt really say anything on the scan apart from the fact that sensor is not connected. So im not sure how to identify which sensor is faulty. Any idea what to do next?

To be honest if you have used the correct sensors and checked your wiring, if you are going to replace anything it should be the module

Unless you know it should be compatible, it's guesswork?

Also why is your gateway still saying it is incorrectly coded? I'd get that sorted because it could be causing other issues and possibly the communications faults

Edit just realised the module was swapped. I'd start by clearing the gateway fault. Also the ABS one that is showing, and eliminate faults one by one

I dont know how to sort those faults on the gateway and the ABS. How do i go about doing that? Im not sure why my gateway is saying incorrectly coded could it be something is enabled in the installation list that shouldnt be?

I also forgot to mention before not sure if it makes any difference to this situation but only a for a second i can see the optical parking display on the RNSE unit and then it disappears.

So i did this continuity test on 2 of my sensors using a spare connector i had, and i can tell when the multimeter beeps and zero displayed i have a good connection but with the sensor i dont get the beep i just get a reading of 630 or so. So does this mean my sensor is faulty? I have only tested two and i will probably test the rest tomorrow if you can tell me this indicates faulty sensors.

The last bit is i think bit 17 and it's only tmps and another thing.. don't remember right now how it's called..but if i enable it...it throws the code " coding rejected out of range"...
I hope that is something else to do in coding the abs and it's not needed changing the abs module :(
Hello!
First of all big thanks for all the details about the lengths, the part numbers and coding. I started also this retrofit, but... i have a single error on the module and I don't know what to do anymore.
First of all my car is an a3 8p 5 door 2010
2.0 cbab manual Lhd without factory fitted parking aid

I did the loom for all 10 sensors from the beginning
Took the sensors from a donor car
The pla module is 8p0 919 475 E , so it's a PLA 1.0

I did the coding for gateway - installation list- checked parking aid 2- everything good

On steering assist - adaptation - installation park steer assist - 0 - everything good

On instruments - coding - added + 128 on coding - everything good

On the pla module the coding is 100003
And on the navigation i coded for optical parking aid

And it throws a error code only on the pla module
"1 Fault Found:
01316-ABS Control Module
013 Check DTC Memory"

The abs module is 1K0 907 379 AN
ESP MK60EC1 H45 0107
WSC 06314
And the coding for abs is 1142401209240000881302EC901D00423800

No errors on the abs, on steering assist, on navigation, on gateway, on instruments... only on the pla module.

The system works for 1 or 2 seconds..it shows on navi the OPS but after that a long beep and thats it... when i press the park assist button, on the dashboard shows "system not available"

The loom is good because i checked with another module ( 8k) not PLA and it works perfectly. But with this one it gives this error.

Here is a video how it shows on the rns-e

I hope that i gave all the details

If anyone can help with this please help

Mate I’m sorry I’ve been meaning to look at your abs coding but things have been crazy here at the minute I’ll try and get it done tomorrow.

Did you guys manage to fix this problem? As i am having the same fault code with the abs. And its the only fault code i have which is not letting my PDC+PLA sensors work. Please let me know

A recent update and notes:
I did the retrofit to a 2010 VW Golf Mk6 - they are all VAG so use the same (mainly) parts - PDC module, sensors, etc.
I followed the MK6 Golf forum instructions using a Chinese kit sourced on AliExpress. Worked well, except the PDC module was coded for a Tiguan - found during coding - still worked fine with RNS head unit (colour pictures of distances and camera - if fitted). Some cars have the hole positions shown on the bumper inside (generic mould I guess).
If you can find the correct plugs (at bumpers) its easy to remove pins or make new connections. Else, use new waterproof connectors and tape into existing loom.

One thing to note, I used to drill the holes (18mm for VW) and always had torn edges. For the Golf, I invested in a plastic bumper punch - Skoda part No??
There are more generic ones available now. These work best because as they punch the hole, they draw pain into the hole and have no swarf, making a much cleaner hole for install - no painting necessary afterwards. Spend the $20 or so and you shouldn't regret it.

thank you all, I've managed to solve it and get everything working

Hi mr_dude, could you share your adaptations/positions in 10pin conector? I just saw when the buttons are individual.

Guys, I got this answer from the diagram. It was all in my face. Sorry for resurrecting the topic unnecessarily!
