Definitely, perhaps they've done a better job of blending it in? In my S3 it's pretty obvious when it kicks in and in the video it's clear to hear when the A45 comes on song too.

Worst I've had was my 370z, with a 3.7l v6 you'd think there was enough going on to avoid fake noise, but nope, 5k rpm upwards it just whacked up the induction noise through the speakers and sounded pants. Best of all it actually drowned out the natural exhaust note from the standard fit HKS on the Nismo version.

Still, if its amplified natural sounds across all rev ranges then IMO there's no issue, it's 5 pots sounds in 4 pot cars that are just daft or where they fit external speakers to make fake sounds (diesel Q7s sounding like petrol v8s).
I never put my S3 in dynamic as the fake sound is terrible . Crazy why a 3.7l v6 would need fake noise I'll never know .
Unfortunately the do gooders of the world have ruined it for us petrolheads

Yeah, for whatever reason the 370z never quite sounded as 'v6' as my brothers 350z.

now that was a car :icon thumright:

(ps: I had a 3.2 litre TT)

+1. That engine was always on my wish list. Mate that used to give me a lift had a cabrio TT with the 3.2 . But a more likely and practical option and wish was a R32, but sadly never happened.

it was a glorious V6 engine and lovely manual gearbox.
I went to look at a R32 and looking back wished I had bought one - great to have had on the check list.

It's too easy to look back with rose tinted glasses though, I was watching Car SOS a while back and they 'did' a Mk1 Escort Mexico and brought on an ex Liverpool Police Mexico with the next registration to the one I owned (also ex Liverpool Police) a quick trip down memory lane followed with all the antics I used to get up to and then the realisation that even a good one would only do 97mph and a 11+ second 0-60mph...bang, straight back down to earth :sadlike:

Had it as a second car, would go buy a TT quattro sport but the missus wouldn’t drive a manual now after getting used to DSG.

As I said this is a dealer car and I don't know what fuel it had in it. Maybe it was 98 - but I don't know. Before drive train loss and right off the dyno it was showing 420-440 hp.

Youve got that the wrong way around :)

What normally happens on a dyno is the car does the power curve (which is like the one you have shown) this is 'power at the wheels' and then coasts back down to a near standstill usually out of gear in neutral, the dyno measures the transmission loss whilst slowing down, and then adds this to 'power at wheels' and this gives you engine or flywheel hp.

Losses are dependent on quite a few things, lower losses normaly with all the drive train, wheel bearings, tyres and pressures up to temperature/pressure etc and the car held not over tight on the rollers, the tighter you pull the car down the harder it is for the wheels to turn and the higher the losses will be and the lower the wheel power will be.

We used to see somehwere around 25 hp loss on a 911 with 2wd, the extra drive to the rear on the RS3 will probably have that up to 35-45 hp and then does the car disconnect the rears on the over run?............difficult one

So, If your 405 hp was at the wheel, add the (my estimated drive train loss to it) losses to that and you end up 440-445hp :)

3.5 i can believe, I wouldn't be surprised if the car has some form of limited over-torque or over-boost during launch control.

The only way to get the interior design pack in UK cars is to go for a Audi Exclusive interior a bit cheaper buying the parts yourself l would think

Yeah I really don’t think there was anything new on that drive. Good to see another with experience of an 8V thinks it’s worth spending the money on the 8Y though.

They are better that most of the car youtubers out there, abit different and they are definitely out for the younger crowd. Most are boring as hell now, saying the same old ****.

Only a few informative decent youtubers like Joe achilles the rest are really cheesy.

Fair play to them for being abit different

£10 says by the end of his time with it he makes up some ridiculous excuse about why he won’t buy it whether he likes it or not. Because a GTI Clubsport is better anyway.
