When looking on the revo site at remap options it states the cost but also that their particular products need fitted by specialists around the country.
Is the cost on the website inclusive or do you pay extra for fitting?

Revo isn't really the go-to remap for the 8P any more - they stopped their R&D several years ago however the product is still available. If you're looking for a generic map like the Revo then APR is the way to go. Alternatively, for possibly less money you could get a custom map bespoke to your can from the likes of RTech.

Cheers for taking the time to reply. Do you know if there are any reputable guys "oop north" am based in Carlisle but don't mind travelling so far?
Is the APR option reliable? I know that the feeling is generally that custom remapping is better but do the generic options always work or are they hit and miss/throw up warning lights etc?
By the way the car is a 12 plate 2ltr tdi.

When I lived in north yorkshire I went to a company called "Bigfishtuning". They well known for vag car mapping. They charged me £300 for a rolling road custom map on my TTS. Transformed the car and definitely recommend them. They are in Stokesly North yorkshire, so not sure how far from yourself though.

Yes the APR maps are good. I’ve had stage one APR on my 2.0 tdi for a while now with no issues whatsoever.

My car has is dsg and I notice it right through the Rev range, it’s more fuel efficient but put it in S and shell fly

APR maps are one of the best but do pay the extra for a custom rolling road tune, you’ll end up with a smoother, quieter engine with better mpg and power. They should quote an all in price for all the work, which includes saving your original map should you need to go back to it and checking for faults before a new map is installed. If warning lights come up then something is wrong elsewhere on the car. If the clutch is well worn this will limit power and torque of the end result, the tuner should advise you if this is the case.
Before you go do a basic service changing oil and all the filters.
Gaz78 says his remap was £300 which is a bargain, it would be £100 more down here in the Balmy South so well worth considering.

Cheers all. Will have to change insurance 1st as Hastings won't change mine to cover it??

Lots of people will insure you with stg1, it cost me £30 extra for stg 2+, shop about as always with insurance.

Dont just not tell them because basically you will be uninsured.

Hi.
If you need any help with insurance at all then please feel free to drop me a line.
Regards,
Dan.

Cheers Dan
Will probably be later next month as the Revo garage up here is getting a new rolling road and I would prefer waiting till I can get a graph printed.
On another note, I take it if I jump ship from Hastings they would split my premium into 12ths and refund me the remaining months? Minus whatever admin everybody seems to charge these days!
