Roof bars - 3 door fitment

Guys,

I've got some Thule cycle carriers from my last car so I have bought some roof bars for the A3.

These: Audi A3 3dr (03-12) :Atera SIGNO AS aluminium roof bars no. AR5085.

The rear bar looks as though it it fixes to the car by slipping between the window rubber, is this how genuine Audi bars work aswell?

Genuine Audi roof bars bolt onto the roof directly (holes in the roof itself) and do not clamp-on like third party bars. The cross pieces clamp to the bars. Quite a different fixture from the Thule models.

Thank you. I've seen a locating bolt hole for the front bar, it's the rear I'm curious about.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I have the audi ones that fit under the window rubber and clamp to the roof. The rubber parts on the feet could do with replacing, any idea where I could get some spare bits from?
