Hi all,

it’s been about 10 months since we got our car, phoned our local main dealer as assumed it must be coming up to being due a service. Have been told it’s not due another one for at least another year!!!

2years between services doesn’t sound right to me?? And thoughts on this

So looking to have it serviced anyway. As Would people get this done via a specialist or main dealer? The car is still in manufacturers warranty until April. Not a fan of main dealers but also don’t want to void anything either.

If a specialist garage is the recommended opinion, would anyone recommend a garage in the Surrey area?
Many thanks in advance for any help with this

Long life service is correct, although I don't follow that at all as its just too long, you can tell them you want it anyway.

Although this service I’m looking at doing has no bearing on the warranty as it’s not currently due, would you still look to have it done with Audi, or look at an independent gagrage??

Tbh it doesn't need recording, I've done intermediate services for clients before as its not going to affect warranty, so any competent knowledgeable person could do it I guess.

As an intermediate service would you recommend just an oil change? Or should I look to change any other filters / plugs etc??

I used to change the oil / filter every 5K myself, then have the 10k / 20k services done at a specialist who could update the online history.

Plugs are a lot longer on OE schedule but I changed mine at 10k / 15k / 20k

Whereabouts in Surrey as I can do that for you.

Plugs should be fine, maybe remove, clean ends & refit, but oil, filter & maybe air although that should be ok.

Any recorded servicing must be done by a vat registered garage to maintain warranty.

Its true, but its not what he's asking bud.

Im in Wallington Bud. How bout yourself?

Ping me a WhatsApp, maybe its something we can resolve as Wallington is an area I have worked in before, 232 corridor.

Amazing as it sounds Audi would not service my RS3 in between the regular long life servicing! I could not be ***** to get it serviced elsewhere so just stuck to the 18k / 2 years or whatever it was.

TX.

He just wants to get an interim service by any competent means so to speak without necessitating a stamp, service record update, whether diy or alternative, as he's not keen on the dealer lol, thus warranty isn't affected if service not known so to speak & he can get done now.

Thats just silly, why would they turn away business, as its your car, if you want it serviced sooner, who are they to question, judge.

Used to service my company cars every 6k many years back, when I employed telecom engineers who thought it was fun to drive into the front of tractors, all at my expense, to call him a useless feckwit is an understatement...... Alas my bad for employing him.

I just kept all the receipts from Crewe Audi for the services / work I did myself.

At least the car when I sold it had full history plus evidence of extra service work performed.
