Been a while since I've posted here. Though I've moved to the dark side and got me a Golf R.
Doing a few tests on the motorway and I'll get an average 34mpg doing 70mph (cold weather, cheap fuel). Given my car has the old 6-speed DSG, the revs sit quite high when doing 70 and even higher (3k rpm) when doing 80mph. It also drones because of the soundaktor, which I put in "eco" mode for the motorway as it's annoying.
Just wondering for those with S3s and the new 7-speed S-Tronic, what's been your experience of the new gearbox? Particularly interested in those who've come from the old 6-speed S-Tronic in an S3 to the new 7-speed one. Any change in mpg and sound?
