This is really interesting. Just popped into my local Audi dealer, new rs3 looks amazing by the way, the Site manager spots my car and comes over for a chat. He really liked the wheels so was telling him about the remap. You know the first he said said was " How's the clutch? " So Audi are obviously aware of the S1 clutch problem. So why not uprate it then Audi?

My dealer has a touch up pot for my S1 in vegas as there was a small pain defect in the rear door sill and I agreed it was ok to touch it up rather than full respray given it's not visible except when the door is open.

That's simple it would cost Audi a lot of money to start replacing clutches on the S1:wink:.
Its a lot more reasonable to get the customer to foot the bill, NOT!!!! @Ian Whiffen

Yeah Daniel. I just went into Audi Bexley and, apart from still not doing a touch up pot of Vegas Yellow yet, spoke to the service manager. Apparently they are not aware of any clutch issues yet because they haven't sold very many of them. I don't think they are going to readily admit anything because, as you say, they are not going to want to spent out on warranty clutch replacement.

You will have to forgive me if I am being a bit thick here...that tends to happen on a Monday lol. But why would Audi be interested in their clutches failing on a remapped car? Unless the clutches fail on a standard s1 as well do they?

Yeah there is another thread on here by Ben. His standard S1 has only done 12000 miles and it's now slipping

Audi are notorious for not owning up to problems, their way of getting out of warranty fixes, so it's going to take a lot of pressure from purchasers to rectify it. I have a 2 yr warranty on my remap so I should be covered if Audi decide to be *********

it wont take too much pressure if you email/contact the right people, its just dealers that drag there feet most the of time.

Mine has just completed 6k miles, no issues next and haven't read much about S1 (non mapped) clutch issues so far....
