Hi Guys,

For some time now I have been trying to figure out what has been causing a harsh "judder /hesitation / jerking" sensation that occurs when accelerating from the 2k to 3k RPM range, the car will drop revs quickly and recover, the rpm needle will jump very quickly a few degrees. All the obvious bits have been checked, coil pack, boost recirc valve, boost leaks, DSG was remapped and the technician said the DSG is spot on, Haldex was serviced... My mechanic was stumped.

I found a video finally online of someone with the exact same issue /symptoms as me and I was able to run this test using VDCS on the Engine to investigate based on their thoughts. They seemed to think a bad VVT...

Test was done on: VDCS Measuring Blocks Camshaft Adjustment (Bank 1 Intake) Group Code: 91

I have annotated the results to help.

Run one was done with the car stationary:

Run two was done driving when the car started to Jerk / hesitate for me:

Is anyone able to do a similar test and share their results or advise me? Is my chain on the way our or stretched? Car is stage 1 mapped running 300BHP and is about 73k miles. 2010 S3 8P

I would really appreciate any help, it is sending me crazy!!
