Will the lower grill(s) on the S3 facelift fit an A3 S Line facelift bumper?

I've tried searching with no luck!

Thanks

Don't think so, I wanted to fit a small fog lamp in there like on the PFL and had them out to measure, but could not find anything suitable without robbing too much air flow from the radiators. they are an absolute cow to get out!!!!

Thanks for responding.

I actually spontaneously purchased a pair from eBay last night as they were the last brand new ones available and didn’t want to miss out.

Looking at yours and the photos below would make me think it would be a straight swap on my FL A3 Saloon as they look identical bar the chrome strip - but it’s just guessswork on my part. Fingers crossed!

I thought the original photo was yours!
good luck getting them out!!!!
Yeah, sorry I only realised afterwards the photo in the OP was from a PFL S3!

Any tips in getting them out? I’m dreading it. Especially if they don’t ****** fit after all!

Look at your new grills and you will see where the clips are and in which direction they go.
I would suggest getting something like a wooden 'lolly pop stick' and using a nylon 'trim iron' release each clip in turn replacing the trim iron with the lollypop stick as you go, once you have released all the clips and have a 'ring' of lollypop sticks, then try some judicious 'easing' out - mine were really tight.

Goodness, not looking forward to that!

Much appreciated, I’ll report back once they arrive

Dropped my car off at a local place today and asked them to replace the said lower grilles as the bumper was coming off anyway - they’ve just rung me saying they can’t get them out!

He said it looks like they may have been bonded in.

I may attempt your method sometime in the near future.

Oh ******, at least it means mine was not a one off!
If I were you I would get them out now whilst the bumper is off and and before it is painted so that you can get at the back of the clips at the back of the grilles.

Yeah its a pain! my local VW/Audi specialist is having a go at it tomorrow for a £48 charge! it's my only hope as I really don't fancy getting the wheels and bumper off on my driveway anytime soon.

I took mine off whilst I had the bumper off to change the main grille. They were tight but by manipulating each lug individually and they came out. I have read that pulling them from the outside in the direction of the clips and they will come out but didn’t want to risk any damage. Also separated the chrome strip from them and painted them to match the black edition grille. Just needs a bit of patience and perseverance.

I parked mine facing direct sunlight light for a couple of hours ,and then in one forceful pull they came out , a bit of brute force and ignorance is required
