I fitted my H&R lowering springs today (supplied by GNJ motorsprt who provided an exceptional service - thanks again Graeme!!!)
It took me approx. 3 hrs as im an amateur and needed to go for a couple of specialist tools (14mm spline drive bit and a hub/ strut spreader totalling £20).
Anyhow, i was sceptical 20mm wouldnt be enough of a drop but it looks absolutely spot on!!! Low enough but not chavvy low! The springs are marginally stiffer but the ride when just cruising is very similar to the stock springs. Only when pushing on do you notice the springs get stiffer under hard cornering load which massively improves the dynamics of the chassis.
Understeer is dramatically reduced and the car corners more flat with body roll vertually eliminated. Also, the springs can be fitted without tampering with any of the the adjustable geometry components so struts etc are a straight swap out and re-locate in the same position.
The additional 20mm drop must have changed the geometry settings but im confident it tracks true and straight. ill get it checked at next oppotunity. Well impressed though and will be getting some new MTM Bimoto wheels and spacers soon!
very very happy!
