I'm a B5 TQS owner and user of that forum so this is for a pal.

He's got a S4 B6 which has recently developed a vibration through the car that he's having trouble tracing.

He's gone through all the usual things (tyres / exhaust / wheel balancing etc etc ) but wants to now take it to a specialist to analyse further. He suspects it might be clutch / flywheel related and thus terminal if not looked at properly.

So...can anyone suggest a reputable garage in the Glasgow area who have previous experience with S4 of this age.

Andy @ A4 Audi came to mind for me but I think it's newer cars he specialises in?

Any help or suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Ross

From what I understand it's all the time. Both at idle, under load and at all speeds.

He's done a little background reading and potentially suspects something in the flywheel / clutch area...his words not mine

We have site sponsors mbjarvie in Glasgow. You could try them.

Just off the phone with my pal who's confirmed the vibrations is all the time. He suspects the Dual mass fly wheel centre bolt maybe?

Coil packs would be my suspect.
DMF failure is usually most evident at idle, & vibration normally stops when depressing the clutch.

Coil packs are OK...seemingly.

Vibration doesn't stop when clutch is depressed.

Will tell him to give Jarvies a call...thanks for input thus far.

DH Automotive In BonnyBridge.

Mates with him on Facebook. (Dave Henderson) He is a superb mechnicand has a 600bhp S3 so knows his stuff.

Not obviously in Glasgow and possilby not 100% familiar with your motor.

However I would strongly recommend you phoning him..

No one has mentioned the obvious yet, engine mounts and gearbox mounts.

check the engine mounts as they are fluid filled on this model
also check the connections on the maf sensor
