My clutch failed a month ago on my 2004 s4 and am having all sorts of problems trying to find a replacement. I've been told that the dual mass free wheel is available but Audi stopped making the pressure plate 18 months ago. Tried VW heritage and other places (that can no longer trade with UK due to Brexit changes) and am completely stuck. Car has been stripped by my Audi specialist garage as they'd ordered a clutch and flywheel and then their supplier dropped the bombshell they couldn't provide one. Wondered if anyone had any ideas what I could do. Don't know whether I can upgrade to a Sachs stage 1 but don't want an on/off clutch. Don't know if anyone knows of an alternative manufacturer who may have started to make these as can't believe I'm the only S4 owner to have required a new clutch in tge last 18 months! Any advice appreciated.
Cheers

'Stage 1' is typically an organic clutch which is the uprated, heavier version of the stock item. The on/off clutch you describe is a paddle clutch and is usually inappropriate for road use.

Here's the part numbers for a 2004 V8:

S4

Look them up on a parts supplier. I think https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ ships from within the UK. For EU warehouses, the list is endless.
