Ive found a cheap S4 which has a slight judder when pulling off in first and reverse gears. Im thinking if this is a simple ish cheap fix I may go for it ... Any ideas as to what it could be?

I had this also, but I think it is down to the tyres. I fitted newer ones and it has disappeared. My garage told me that it is a common complaint in Quattro's. My judder was happening whilst moving from a stand still and turning the wheel.

If it's with full lock going slowly thats typical of Quattro cars and is quite normal.
If it does it when just going straight ahead it could be a gearbox issue in which case that could be very expensive.

The 'crabbing' you feel during full lock is apparently normal according to Audi. I've heard it's worse on the more hardcore models too (R8) etc. Straight line could be a problem though, can you get the gearbox read?
