S8 D2 Covid Deathbed

Morning all!

Hoping to get some help and hoping I've overlooked something really daft in order to get my D2 going again!

I was using up to the covid situation, but it's now sat for a loong time without me starting/using it (I know, I know..)

I have replaced the battery, and now I've got nothing when trying to start the car.. nothing at all.. apart from the window wipers going for some reason.

It doesn't crack, can't hear any noises/whirls/beeps anything.

New battery has been checked out and is fine, no parasitic draw either.

I've tried within VCDS to "recode" the battery, but I can't see anywhere to do it...

I don't really know if this car needs that to be done... just can't think of what has caused it all if not the battery change..

Help please!

Starter motor or relay maybe are faulty.

Assume dash lights up?

Yeah dash lights/radio etc are all fine…


Should I hit the starter with a big hammer? :lol:

Am I right in thinking that there isn’t anything I can do with the battery coding in VCDS with this car?

I’ve looked in both address 19 & 61 and can’t see anything to update??
