Safe boost

I have a obd device saying my TT is boosting over 3 bar I’ve recently installed a boost gauge but it goes straight to max is it safe to run 2003 225 stage 1 remapped

that's way too much that's nearly 44 psi you should be around 1.2-1.4 bar on a stage 1 map

Is that picking up the signal from the map sensor?
Map sensor shows absolute pressure which is roughly 1 bar,14.6psi, 100kpa over boost pressure so this needs deducted to show boost on a boost gauge.
