Scratched window (DIY replacement?)

At some point prior to me purchasing the car, someone has done a terrific job of scratching the driver and passenger windows. No idea how they've managed it but it's annoying the life out of me.

I can buy replacement glass off fleabay but does anyone know if this is a DIY job to replace or would I need to call in the professionals?

Can't find any tutorials on youtube.

They probably used an ice scraper at some point, I did it to a company car years back and scratched the windscreen! Since they I only use Prestone de-icer and NO scraper. It's great stuff and doesn't freeze up again like others do...Costco 6 for about £8.
