Service time again (Oil Advice)

Hi All

Well its oil change time again. I used castrol magnatec 5w30 last time and to be honest its ****e !

What do you all recommend ?

1.9 TDI A6 2000 plate with 160K on the clock

I'm running Mobile 1 both on my TT and the A6...... sorry never tried Castrol Edge

As far as I understand it, Castrol Edge is the equivalent of what Audi themselves put in these days (branded under the name of Quantum), so it can't be too bad... and price is usually pretty good if you don't buy it from the stealers.

Which engine? AFN or a PD?

Quantum 5w40 fully synthetic... If you have a PD engine i would stop using castrol magnatec as it's not good for the cams in these...

Eurocarparts often have a 20% discount offer code which includes oil. I used Shell Helix in my last car which met the correct vw specs. Current code is ALL20

Cheers all, I have used the 5 30 edge. Engine seems to be a little noisy. Will keep an eye on it.
