Space saver for the rs3?

I dont remeber seeming it on the options list. I would prefer it rather than a can of green hair mouse in the boot

Would a space saver go over the Calipers? I suppose it might if the rs5 has one?

You can get one for the RS3, however it is the same as that for the S3 and there is a slight problem in so far as while it fits the rear, it wont fit the front as the brake calipers are too big. If you puncture on the front you would have to change rear onto front, then fit space saver to rear. Probably no bad thing as at least you would have a decent front tyre, albeit marginally narrower on the front for the steering

I have an S3 one in the boot.
had to modify the foam insert but it fits fine.
didnt want to right off a tyre with foam from a simple repairable puncture.

My S5 has a space saver but the wheels and tyres are the same all round.
there are two wheel/tyre options on the S5 19/20" .

A lot of faffing around on the RS3, if you got a puncture in the front you'd have to swap a good back tyre onto the front and put the space saver on the back, as i doubt the space saver would clear the front Brembo Caliper.

My space saver is 125/70/19, there is slightly less than 2'' clearance of the calliper with the 20" wheels fitted,if its OK with John we can try the space saver next time i'm at his so at least then we will know for sure.

Got the s3 space saver on ok on the front but it's fits too close to caliper ,but a with a spacer it could work !

Is the S3 18" space saver a close enough match for the RS3 19" alloys then?

Did the 19" S5 space saver fit?

This will be the first car, I've never had the back up of some form of spare tyre.

Thanks Kelza. I was concerned about the 18" vs 19" diameter, but i guess the side wall makes up the difference.

A few members are running 18 inch alloys (winters)so this is another option as they fit on the front ..:thumbsup:
