starter motor

i believe my starter motor has gone 12v gone in 1.2v coming out is this bad or is correct

coming out of where?

The motor will run as long as 12 volts are supplied to the sonenoid terminal on the top ( assuming the large 12volt source connected)

after the soleniod clicked i only got 1.2volts at the other side of the switch
